Rinse the tip with running water to dilute the solution and apply directly to the affected gum area. This will immediately numb the pain and reduce the inflammation.
If none of the above still works and the throbbing pain still lingers, try a stronger pain reliever: Orajel. It is a topical over-the-counter medicine that can directly ease your toothache pain. It has products that are specific to cater to adults, toddlers and babies. There are also specific products for a variety of dental conditions and most importantly, the kind of pain you are currently in. Orajel has a good amount of benzocaine, a drug specifically designed to help ease toothache pain. It has a product in gel form that allows the patient to control the placement of the remedy on the pain source. It targets directly the affected area and provides instant relief from pain.
Some of the remedies indicated above are easy to come by and are available in most pharmacies. As to proper dosage, medication and application, you can consult your local pharmacist on how to go about helping your toothache pain. Instructions are also indicated in the labels and boxes so you can guage the amount that is right to ease the pain.
